Shelly is a Technology Entrepreneur and founder of Enscient Corporation. As CEO of Enscient, Shelly combined her extensive fundraising experience with her passion for Politics, Technology and Professional Sports to launch Root Square. Root Square is an innovative fundraising platform which allows political candidates, non-profits, and individuals to raise funds across leading Social Media sites such as Facebook and Twitter, while shining the spotlight on those who work hardest for the cause. So, where did Shelly get her fundraising experience? Shelly has the distinct honor of serving on President Barack Obama’s National Finance Committee 2012, and is a National Co-Chair for Technology for Obama. Along with serving on several local races, Shelly is honored to serve on the Statewide Finance committee for Attorney General Kamala D. Harris (CA, 2010, 2014). And, she raises money for ex-DNC Chair and VA Governor, Tim Kaine.
Shelly is a Technology Advisor to the Office of the Attorney General, Honorable Kamala D. Harris (CA), as well as a Technology and Social Media Advisor to the India-Senate Caucus co-chaired by Senator Mark Warner (VA). Shelly is a past and present member of Kamala D. Harris' AG race in CA and was instrumental on AG Harris’ Transition Team in making recommendations for Technology Use within the Office of the Attorney General. Shelly is also the Silicon Valley contact for the Democratic Governors’ Association, and is a Technology Advisor to the Indian American Leadership Initiative (IALI).
Shelly is a Truman National Security Project Partner, mentor in the New Leaders’ Council, and a Female Tech entrepreneur who is a passionate advocate of other women in Business, Technology and Politics.
So what about the passion for professional sports? Well....who doesn't love professional sports?!
Prior to founding Enscient, Shelly was at Oracle Corporation for 10 years, working in the Government Education Healthcare (GEH) practice. While at Oracle, Shelly implemented the HR Suite of Applications (11i) for various Government and Healthcare entities.
Shelly holds an M.S. in Management Information Systems and B.S. in Management Information Systems, from the University of Maryland College Park.
